It finally came!! It opens up & works, too. I am so ready for the Catching Fire premiere now. Tick tock.
For everyone who asked where I got this:
It was a gift, but if you search “Catching Fire Pocket Watch” on Etsy, there are a ton! I believe mine is [[this one]]. It took a few weeks to get here since it’s from overseas but it’s a great price & it’s quite heavy & sturdy. The chain is really long. As a necklace it hangs mid-boob level. So far no issues. I love it!

So I’ve got this decent size gold mockingjay on the back of my jeep & this girl on the sidewalk just stopped & gave me a three finger salute but I thought ‘omg is this girl seriously doing, like, heil hitler right now???’ Then omg wait, no, awesome!! So, mega bitchin’ human who did that- I’m sorry I looked at you weird! By the time I processed what you were really doing, alas, it was too late.

Anyone else get freaked out when Donald Sutherland, AKA President Snow, narrates a documentary you’re watching? I keep waiting for him to wish me Happy Hunger Games.
“It takes ten times as long to put yourself back together as it does to fall apart” - Finnick Odair, Mockingjay
“It’s a saying from thousands of years ago, written in a language called Latin about a place called Rome,” he explains. “Panem et Circenses translates into ‘Bread & Circuses.’ The writer was saying that in return for full bellies and entertainment, his people had given up their political responsibilities & therefore their power.”
I think about the Capitol. The excess of food. & the ultimate entertainment. The Hunger Games. “So that’s what the districts are for. To provide the bread & circuses.”

There. Can we all be friends again now?
