I’m so excited it’s finally official! I love Sam Claflin playing Finnick Odair. You can read more about that up at the “Okay, so here’s the thing” link because my first impression of him after seeing a pic was honestly not stellar but I trust their casting choices & I saw pretty quickly why he’ll make a great Finnick.

p.s- can we not all go crazy & be hateful? At least not on my tumblr posts, please. If you love the books & the movie[s] maybe just cool it with any Sam Claflin hate you may have just because your favorite didn’t get cast (especially if they never even auditioned in the first place). It’s not doing anyone any good & I think it cheapens the very heart of why these books & movies are so special & important to all of us. I know I run a tumblr that makes jokes but I’m 100% dead serious when it comes to the books otherwise. ~ Le stepping off soap box now.~

Okay so Josh Hutcherson said on the 3rd that he is heading to Atlanta in two weeks to start shooting Catching Fire. Super grool, right?

& Sam Claflin is very likely our Finnick (& I love him!). But then I see this today:

I just really want them to confirm Finnick casting already! I’m loving Sam Claflin too much. My best guess is Tuesday it’ll be confirmed or denied since that seems to be the pattern so far. 

I mean, he’s already got the Finnick/Annie thing down anyways:) 

Remember- it’s only official when Lionsgate confirms it. I’ve heard also that Jena Malone may possibly be Johanna Mason & Tony Shalhoub as Beetee but [[this]] is the official chart they’re using this time around. 

p.s- who is that unnamed square lady at the bottom??? I remember they said Madge won’t be in the movies & I don’t know how they could incorporate Alma Coin without spoiling a big part of Mockingjay. 

[edit] okay, ya, it’s probably Annie. I didn’t even notice she was missing from the casting graphic. Haha.

So at first I was like who is this Sam Claflin guy? I know, right? It’s so embarrassing. I don’t even… whatever. So then I saw his picture & I was like, this is really meh, how is he going to play Finnick Odair? But then I was like, well, the casting so far has been pretty flawless. I mean, they’re really good at this so far, right? There’s no way they could screw up Finnick Odair. I mean he’s Finnick Odair! Right? So then I went & watched some Sam Claflin interviews & now I guess I’m in love. 

& then I went & made a bunch of gifs of his cute face & he was like “Why are you so obsessed with me?”. Ok- But in all seriousness, he has completely charmed me. Very Finnick. Now I’m hoping he really is cast.

I just have a lot of feelings about Sam Claflin! I know a lot of people were stuck on one favorite but this guy is hella cute & charming & I just want to put my mouth on his mouth & all the sugar cubes.

Thoughts? He was in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides & Snow White & the Huntsmen if he looks familiar. 

He’s growing on me. 

Can we all just promise that we won’t push each other in front of bus or call people gap-toothed bitches when Finnick is cast? I just want a bake a cake made out of rainbows & smiles & we’ll all eat it & make Peeta baking jokes & be happy.

We can officially count Taylor Kitsch out of casting as Finnick. I don’t think that’s really a surprise to anyone though, is it?  

But now it looks like it also may be an unknown that is cast. 

No matter who it is I just hope that they get Finnick right. I heard the scenes they’re testing them on are the sugar cube scene & the part in the Quarter Quell when he & Katniss get caught in the hour with the Jabberjays. Hard to say if that’s true or not, but if it is I can’t think of anything better than those two scenes to have them do.
