That was an April Fools joke. The joke was that Shailene Woodley was taking over for her in Mockingjay. Untrue, my love. Jennifer Lawrence is still our Katniss.

I’m so pleased you enjoyed it as much as I did! Have you read “Free Four”? It’s the knife-throwing chapter from Four’s perspective & it’s great.
Oh gosh, where do I begin. I, too, went on a similar mission to find books in that same sort of genre. It didn’t pan out!

I tried & disliked The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. I’m sorry, I know they’re incredibly popular right now (don’t hate me!) but I didn’t like the characters, how it was written, or the story & I won’t even get into the controversy about the “similarities” with other popular series & accusations of plagiary. I really wanted to like it. I did not.

I tried the “Uglies” series by Scott Westerfield after that. I got begrudgingly about 1/4th of the way into the second book until I screamed internally & accepted that I did not like this series, either.
I did enjoy Delirium by Lauren Oliver. It didn’t grab me in the way that THG or Divergent did, but I liked it enough & I’ll probably finish the series.
I’m coming off so negative so far, but I really love the Graceling Realm series by Kristin Cashore. It’s more fantasy, but it’s wonderful.
That said, I’ve pretty much given up on my search.
Although they’re not “like” either THG or Divergent, I did enjoy a few more YA books like Looking For Alaska & The Fault In Our Stars by John Green. I read Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs & The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern because they’re both popular books right now. They’re not my favorite, but they are unique stories & some people really enjoyed them. Warm Bodies, the book, by Isaac Marion was a great quick read. I haven’t seen the movie yet but from what I hear, I’d choose the book version any day.
I feel like Harry Potter goes without saying. I just assume everyone has already read all of them, right? :)

Anyone have any other suggestions? I don’t think I helped so much as I ranted. Haha.
